These were Goodwill finds from last year. I know, I know…slacker. But they are finished now and I LOVE THEM!! The key is a bold statement piece at 24″ long and 8.5″ tall. It was originally a yucky old gold color but I sooo loved the detail and shape. And as usual, I forgot to take a before pic of the front but here is the back with the Goodwill price tag still attached (a score at $3.99!).
It’s made of some kind of plastic and after spending a year in the shed it got a little wonky looking. Looks like it got soft and bent kinda funny. However after sitting in the sun for it’s final coats of black gloss spray paint it straightened out nicely. Whew!
I love the way it *POPS* off the kitchen wall color. I hung it right above the doorway to the living room. Here are a couple close-ups so you can see the detail.
I’m still debating whether or not I want to give it a rub-down with some copper glaze to help the details stand out. We shall see…
On this same trip to Goodwill I also picked up a set of candle holders that were also gold colored.
As per my usual m.o., here they are with just the slightest bit of black added.
I think these could use some copper glaze as well. They were $1.99 for the pair.
So, for under $5 not including spray paint I think they are awesome!!
What have you found lately?
I’m linking up here……

Goodwill Rocks!! You just have to be patient and keep checking back. I have found Perry Ellis dress shirts for my hubby. I went today and found a letter A bookend for $2.99! It’s heavy too, can’t wait to give it a facelift!
