Thrifty Finds #7

Facebook Twitter

I know you all want to live vicariously through my thrift store shopping, so here we go again =)

Monday I made a trip to my local GW.   As always, I check craft supplies first and found a bag full of jewelry components for $4.99.

Jewelry Componentsand

Black/White Beadsand

Purple Beads

While you can’t tell from these pics, there is 3/4 of a pound of beads in each container.  I would have to guess that these would have been at least $5 each (and they’re still sealed, never opened).

In the candle section, I found two sets of candle holders, turquoise flower tealight holder and prayer candle with rhinestone embellishment…I’ll apologize now for the pics…yuck =(

Blue candle holders

These are blue wood for $3.99 and orange stickers were 50% off…$2.00.

White ceramic candle holders were $4.99 and 50% off…$2.50.

White ceramic

Turquoise flower tealight holder was 99¢.  I just think this is so pretty.  The color matches a glass decanter I found at an auction several years ago.

Turquoise Tea light holder

And the blinged-out prayer candle priced $3.99 (really?) with yellow 75% off…$1.  Love the rhinestones, hate the yellow ribbon.

Bling candle

I also found these four gold plastic seasons plaques…dogwood for spring, roses for summer, mums for fall and holly for winter.  Priced at $3.99 with 75% off…$1.  They’ve already gotten a coat of white spray paint.

Four Seasons

I found this adorable copper and blue marble butterfly for my garden next year…$2.99 and 50% off…$1.50.

Copper Butterfly

This blue and white carafe is an old Avon bottle, $2.99 with 50% off…$1.50.  It will go up on the shelf in my kitchen.  I really love blue & white.

Avon Bottle

In the Halloween section, I found this cute little yellow pumpkin votive holder.  Original price $2.99, at 50% off $1.50.

A couple weeks ago I found a black blazer and mentioned I needed to find a top to go with it.  I found it =)   I’m wearing this beauty to see Andrea Bocelli in concert.

Black Sequin Top

Top Detail

This pretty, pretty was only $2.99.  I also picked up a couple cute tees.  The red Love tee and blue smocked tee were also $2.99.

I found another pair of flannel pj pants.  There is just something so calming, soothing, and satisfying about flannel.  I love it!

Flannel PJ'sAnd at $2.99 with 50% off…$1.50.  Who can pass up a pair of flannel jammie pants for $1.50?

Last but not least…I found this pretty pink jersey pillow case.  I keep seeing all these necklaces made from cut-up t-shirts.  Since I just can’t bring myself to cut up a t-shirt (t-shirt and jeans kinda gal, remember?), I can definitely take a pair of scissors to a pillow case….and it wouldn’t be the first time =)  Only 99¢

Jersey Pillowcase

That’s all for today.  I did some shopping a couple days ago but haven’t had time to take pics.  Those will wait for another day.

Thrift store tip for today…Always check to see what that day’s discounted items are…such as Orange tags =50% off, Yellow tags =75% off or maybe by category.

Please take a minute to scroll down and leave a comment.  I would love to know what you think.  Did this inspire you?  Will you be checking out your own local thrift stores?  Or just say –  Hi, I was here.  Comments are the only way to let me know what you are thinking.  If you enjoyed, please share with your friends or followers.

Check out the links in the right column to see where I like to party and tell them I sent you ;-)

Thanks =)

I love your thrifty finds. Totally awesome and would love to be thrift shopping with you, Andrea…but we would probably end up fighting for that special ‘find’..(smile) I went to a charitable thrift store this past week. Picked up some of my favorite things so that when the snow flies I will be tucked safely in my studio working on some of them. I will probably post them so I will have a “before” shot of each item. Love your blog and seeing what you are up to. Hugs, Gayle

I am always hunting the candle holders~~NEVER EVER find them…..well if I do they are priced something goofy :( Don’t wanna pay an arm and a leg for something I have to paint! lol They just jump out and call you by name don’t they? :)
I’d say you S-C-O-R-E-D! lady, but don’t cut the pink pillow case!!! Just think of the sweet dreams you could have resting you little head down on a pink pillow case:*~:*~:*~ Can you tell I am a pinkaholic?
