“The Design Focal Point”
Do you know where to start when designing a room? It can be overwhelming to say the least. I start by creating a “WOW” factor, the one thing that will make everyone stop dead in their tracks: A conversation piece.
Every room should have an inspiration piece that serves as the focal point. It can be a design feature that may already be built into your home, for example, the windows, a fireplace or even the kitchen backsplash. Or it could be something you purchase, like a fabulous rug, a stunning piece of art, an eclectic mirror, a unique buffet, and the list goes on. When you identify the focal point, be sure to let it stand out in the room and avoid competing design elements.
